The College Dance Team Combine

The College Dance Team Combine is an opportunity for the 2024-2028 graduating classes to prepare to dance at the collegiate level. Athletes will learn about recruitment and college tryouts and have the opportunity to network with different college programs. The UDA Combine is here to help athletes prepare for all aspects of dancing at the collegiate level.

Registration

PLEASE READ BEFORE REGISTERING!

To register an individual follow the steps below:

  1. Click on the link for the day you are attending and scroll down to click on the “Individual Registration” button
  2. Click the correct option for who is signing up for the event. Be sure if you are a parent signing up an athlete you check the correct box as registration information is different.
  3. Fill out all registration information
    • Double check that the athlete’s name and birthdate are correct
    • Double check the shirt size selected during enrollment. This is the top they will wear throughout the event so it should not be oversized

After registering as an individual and processing payment, the system will take you back to the log in page. It will take up to 2 business days for you to receive a confirmation email for payment and registration. Please do not submit multiple times to avoid duplicate registration and payments!

The Showcase: Seton High School

Juniors and Seniors will have the opportunity to start the day by attending The Showcase! This session takes place in the morning prior to the Combine giving attendees the chance to meet the college programs before anyone else. Athletes will perform a combo and improv across the floor, as well as spend time learning about the different programs in a more intimate setting!

Time: 9-11am

Details:

  • Open to Juniors (class of 2025) and Seniors (class of 2024)
  • Limited to 50 Athletes
  • Improv Showcase – Athletes will have a chance to showcase their skills for the coaches while improv dancing across the floor.
  • Combo Performance for Coaches – Athletes will receive a Combo ahead of time consisting 4 eight counts of Jazz, 4 eight counts of Pom, and 4 eight counts of Hip Hop. Athletes will be organized in smaller groups to perform for coaches.
  • Additional time with college coaches by division panels
  • Top 3 interest form – Athletes will be able to share their top 3 college programs with attending coaches.
  • Zoom Class to prepare athletes for The Showcase will review the following topics:
    • Hair, make up, and what to wear
    • What to bring
    • How to best show interest in your top schools
    • Review the Combo

Coaches, are you interested in representing your program at the UDA College Dance Team Combine? 

College Program Fee – $50 Per Program: Includes dedicated booth space, hidden webpage with additional program info given to dancers, and contact information for all athletes.

Combine FAQs

What is the Combine?

The UDA College Dance Team Combine is an opportunity for dancers to prepare to dance at the collegiate level. Athletes will learn dance combinations, showcase technical skills, attend seminars, and network with different college programs. Whether universities utilize a recruitment-only process or a tryout process, this event is a great place to make connections with a variety of collegiate programs and get noticed by college coaches!

What grades are allowed to attend the Combine?

The Combine is open to individuals in the 2024-2028 graduating classes.

If a location has multiple sessions, should I attend both of them?

No – Our Combine has multiple sessions due to the capacity limit based on the facility size. Multiple sessions allows for more athletes to get the opportunity to attend one of our events!

Is the Combine open to parents and coaches?

Our Combines are closed to all parents. We do allow high school coaches or studio owners into the event if they are chaperoning their athletes.

How do I know what college programs are attending?

Our list of confirmed college programs attending the Combine can be found on the website under each individual Combine session. This list is subject to change.

When will I receive information about what to bring and what to wear?

Registered athletes will receive finalized information one week out from the event. This information will include event-specific details, required forms, what to bring, what to wear and a dance combo that will need to be learned in advance.

How can I best prepare for the event?

Prepare by learning the material sent out! Be ready to perform for staff and college coaches confidently to showcase the best version of yourself. Additionally, you can research skills, styles and the overall brand of college programs attending so that you can put your best foot forward at the Combine!
